Section Six: Creating Scatter Plots |
|
In this section, we shall create a scatter plot for the Beer.sys file. If you have trouble locating files with the ".sys" extension, please refer to Section Three: Opening an existing dataset. We shall also demonstrate how to use the "Best Fit Line" option. Once the Beer.sys dataset is open, pull down the Graphs menu and choose the Scatter/Dot option under the Legacy Diaglog sub-menu. At the Scatter/Dot window, click once on the Simple Scatter icon and click the "Define" button.
Figure 6.1 At the Simple Scatterplot window, choose the variables you want on the X-axis and Y-axis. We have chosen "Calories" vs. "Cost."

Once you have chosen your parameters, click "OK." An output window will appear with the scatter plot.
